Heidelberg West, VIC – 6 May 2024 – The SALT Foundation is excited to announce its 12-week NDIS Work Traineeship program, designed to provide valuable NDIS employment opportunities and skill development for participants looking to jumpstart their career journey.
This traineeship program offers participants NDIS employment opportunities to gain practical experience in retail operations, working alongside the friendly staff at The SALT Foundation’s Oldies and Goodies Op Shop in Heidelberg West. Participants will have the chance to learn key skills such as merchandising, customer service, and point-of-sale systems, all while receiving supportive mentorship from a dedicated program coordinator, experienced op shop staff, and a one-on-one NDIS support worker.
“The SALT Foundation’s Work Traineeship is an excellent opportunity for NDIS participants who want to build their confidence and take the steps towards gaining valuable work experience,” says Patrick Donnelley, Intake Manager at The SALT Foundation. “Not only will they gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills, but they’ll also receive one-on-one coaching on resume writing and insights into interviewing and job searching.”
Upon completion of the 12-week program, participants will earn a certificate of work experience and a reference. Both of these will help them showcase their achievements to future employers.
“This traineeship is a unique opportunity for NDIS participants to explore exciting career pathways,” adds Donnelley.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this program. It’s a way to support our community on their journey to greater independence and fulfilment.”
NDIS participants interested in the Work Traineeship can submit an expression of interest at thesaltfoundation.org.au/traineeship. The SALT Foundation’s team will be in touch to provide more information and get them started on this life-changing opportunity.
