Where Everyone Belongs: The Joy of Inclusion at Salt March 2026

A disability doesn’t limit your fullness of life. Fun is for everyone.

That’s the powerful message at the heart of the Salt March 2026, and this year, we’re taking it to one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues: Luna Park. This isn’t just another awareness event—it’s a joyful declaration that everyone belongs, everyone has value, and everyone deserves to experience the thrill of community, connection, and pure fun.

The SALT Foundation invites you to be part of something extraordinary. Whether you’re living with a disability, supporting someone who is, or simply passionate about building a more inclusive Australia, the Salt March 2026 is your opportunity to stand alongside a community that refuses to accept limits.

What Makes Salt March 2026 Different? Exclusive Access to Luna Park for Everyone

This year marks a significant evolution in how we celebrate disability inclusiveness and mental health awareness.

Instead of a traditional walk around a track, we’re encouraging participants to journey to Luna Park however they’re able—because the destination is where the magic happens. Once you arrive, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to Luna Park’s rides and attractions during our private event window.

The number of rides available will scale with attendance, with at least five attractions open for our community.

This approach demonstrates what The SALT Foundation has always believed: that every person has inherent value, and social inclusion isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about creating genuine opportunities for joy, connection, and shared experience.

Why "Salt March"? Honouring a Legacy of Social Justice

The Salt March 2026 takes its name and inspiration from Gandhi’s historic Salt March for social justice.

Just as Gandhi walked to challenge unjust systems and claim dignity for the marginalised, our annual March—held every March—represents a commitment to bridging the disability gap and advocating for people living with disabilities under the NDIS. It’s a tangible expression of The SALT Foundation’s Christian values and our core mission: helping people living with a disability and families find a place to belong with the support they want and deserve.

This isn’t performative activism. It’s community in action, grounded in the virtues of humanity, wisdom, courage, justice, temperance, transcendence – and above all these, love.

How You Can Support: Sponsorships, Partnerships, and Donations

The Salt March 2026 relies on community support to keep access free for those who need it most.

We’re seeking sponsorships, in-kind donations, and partnerships with organisations committed to disability inclusion. Major sponsors will receive prominent recognition on our website, social media channels, and event marketing materials, plus the opportunity to set up displays and engage directly with attendees.

This is a worthwhile cause with tangible impact. Our goal is to fully cover event costs (estimated at $10,000) through sponsorships and donations, ensuring no financial barrier prevents anyone with a disability from participating.

If your organisation provides services complementary to The SALT Foundation’s work, this is your opportunity to demonstrate your values in action and connect with a passionate, engaged community.
